KEEPING YOU CLOSEWalk2Campus Properties offers student housing steps away from campus. Walk2Campus is passionate about revitalizing communities around universities, making great places for students to live while attending school.I have been supporting the Walk2campus brand through design for five years. In this time, I have seen the business expand - adding three additional markets, launching a substantial sustainability initiative, refreshing the company mark and website, and developing a core values campaign.

Daily, I work to create marketing pieces ranging from e-mail templates and T-shirt designs to social media messaging and office wall art installations.

I manage the brand across eight markets & multiple mediums, ensuring consistency in look and feel and strengthening the brand recognition. Along the way, there are also many opportunities to connect to the youth culture and infuse a spirit of friendly fun within the marketing.

DESIGN PROJECTS

BEAUTY & DIGNITYA long standing client, Fashion & Compassion is an organization working to connect women in crisis with hope, beauty & dignity. F&C creates stunning, hand-crafted jewelry and accessories, here in Charlotte, as well as countries in Latin America and Africa. Net profits from the sale of the pieces go back into affiliated programs that support women's spiritual and physical needs. When I began to manage the F&C brand the logo and color palette were already established, yet the client had a desire to change the color palette from robust ethnic colors to a more soft and feminine feel. I selected a new palette to reflect the personality of the business. Once we had our new colors, I continued to develop patterns and textures to support the style of Fashion & Compassion. In addition to handling the print design needs, I also took most of the product photography shown on the website.

HATCH SHOW PRINTSSummer Internship

PRESERVATION THROUGH PRODUCTIONDuring the summer of 2010, I enjoyed a wonderful opportunity to learn the art of letterpress from the distinguished Hatch Show Prints on Broadway in Nashville, TN. The shop has been printing posters and signage since 1879. It was a privileged to be able to go back to the roots of graphic design and to have hands on experience with mixing ink, setting type, and producing posters by hand on a Vandercook press. The whole Hatch gang was wonderfully crafty and talented, with worlds of knowledge in letterpress and design. It was a summer I will never forget and Hatch Show Prints continues to influence my designs.
