SAFER MUNICIPAL ROADINFRASTRUCTURE INITIATIVE

The GRSF support is complemented by a GFDRR-financedactivity to introduce an efficient and systematic roadasset inventorying and management informationsystem incorporating both road safety and climate riskconsiderations for the municipal roads in Ulaanbaatar.

Under the GRSF support, road sections in the city withdef icient basic roadinf rastructure assets such astraff ic signs, road markingsand street lighting —that areessential for road safety—are visualized in correspondingcolor-codes.

This information will be included in thegeo-referenced municipal road infrastructureasset inventory to provide inputs to theprioritization of road repair and maintenanceworks in the city, helping to minimize roadsafety risks.

CAPACITYBUILDING

The GRSF-financed technicalassistance also supportscapacity building of thecounterparts in the areas of roadsafety engineering and roadsafety audits. The WB teamorganized a series of workshopsand onsite inspections for themunicipal road developmentauthority and transport policesince October 2018.
