2any Vidya Poshak students, despite !eing academically !right in college, have

difficulties upon graduation. #hey have immense potential !ut a platform and environment

for fostering this potential is not always availa!le. +tudents face challenges such as language

!arriers, lack of resources, and a gap !etween what is learned in the academic system and

what is really needed in the main stream society.

t first, in "007, Vidya Poshak successfully organised three camps for more than 1"0

students. 3t is !elieved that training through residential camps for successive days, with a

planned curriculum, as well as continuing to train the same !atch of students throughout their

college years, will have the most impact on students.

#he camp environment provides them a platform for overall development which

almost all the camp participants have eApressed they have never found elsewhere.

from the academics, the students also are moulded to lead a 5uality life and to resolve

giving !ack to the society. lso most of the students lacked confidence and skills owing

to their inferiority compleA, which is largely !ecause of their socio economic !ackground,

which prevented them from performing well in the selection process D interviews as well

as in any pu!lic appearance. #heir intelligence alone was not found to !e enough. lso

there has !een a huge gap !etween what is learnt in the academic system and there5uirement of the main stream society and the o! market. /nglish and lack of career

address all these vital issues and to make the students contri!uting citizens to the society,

the camps took !irth.

-ence Vidya Poshak decided to train the meritorious and needy students through

hardship. 3n addition, Vidyaposhak intends to produce leaders all over, committed for

SU++ESTI&#S

efore putting forth my suggestions to esteemed organisation, let me put it across

with utmost humility that 3 am very insignificant to give suggestions to an organisation,

which is !uilt !y eminent educationists and which is managed !y dedicated !unch of great

 people, with immense eAperience.

-owever, here are few of my suggestions, !ased on the telephonic conversations,

personal sittings, meetings and discussions with various trainers. #rainees have timely given

their feed!ackN they are also taken into account.

1. lways there is scope of improvement in conducting Residential ridge 'amps.

'ontinual improvement !y learning from previous eAperiences is needed.

". 9earning from camps is well documented in form of camp manual, which is

appreciated. -owever, an organised feed!ack form if given to resource persons ,

would certainly give us !etter understanding in improving camps

>. 3t is felt that there is less effort in improving li!rary. *rganisation could kindly see

over this matter

?. #here is an opinion that came , that local guest speakers should !e increased. *utside

speakers should !e called in emergencies

. #he camp organisers are now trained only once in year & for three days. #his training

if conducted on monthly or !i monthly !asis, would certainly help.

@. t the camps, students are now given practical eAposure , !ut this should !e ensured

that sessions !ecome activity !ased

7. 2ore career awareness and confidence !uilding activities could !e included in

training content

F. P; students generally lack discrimination, common sense. #here could !e some

sessions which address these issues

G. 6e could also think of !uilding enterprising spirit amongst the students, !y including

entrepreneurial development programmes

10. lthough, emotional management is thought to students, still so many students cry on

final day of the camp. )oes it show that we are a!le to make them emotionally

sta!leM.

11. /motional management activities should !e on increase

1". 2ore spiritual activities could !e included.

1>. 'ourse content should !e communicated to all the trainers, so as to avoid repetition in

their sessions

1?. 6e should always ensure that our time and resources are put to maAimum utilisation.

1. 6e should ensure that all the students are participating in camps.

1@. Volunteers should accompany camp coordinators to camps. Resource persons should

given additional responsi!ility, like evaluating a wall paper.

Vidyaposhak is a non profit organisation, which is rendering its yeoman service for

the students who lack financial assistance. 3 would say that such $%*sD$P*s are re5uired in

more and more num!er in our society. fter successfully completing my proect, 3 would say

that this is a 6onderful model ,which is outcome of efforts of many eminent educationists

and social workers. #his model could !e replicated and duplicated .#here is a sense of giving

!ack , which is found throughout all the programmes.esp. Residential ridge camps. #his

'ertainly !ridges the gap !etween academics and re5uirement at the o! market. #here is so

much learning and so much !eauty, which is infact difficult for us to eApress in words.

6e find so many students, who set their goals at the end of the camp. #hey write

letters constantly to the donors and trainers. #oday, all Vidyaposhak scholars are no dou!t

emerging as responsi!le citizens of the society.

2y learning was huge during my stay. 3 understood the significance of spirit of

sacrifice and oy of giving. /veryone at Vidyaposhak has smiling face. 6hen education

system has ruined, 3nstitutions like Vidyaposhak are like lotus amidst the dirty water.
