"If the refereesees it properly it's a redcard," United boss AlexFerguson told reporters."He 's e lbowed h imclearly, he was lucky. Thereferee was in line andshould have seen it.

" I ' mdisappointed because hehas stopped the gametwice before that. Oncewhen Ballack went downhe jumped up and wasback on his feet again in

batsman also made itclear that he would loveto enjoy the same

authority and powers thatwere once given to 1992World Cup winningcaptain Imran Khan.

"When Imranwas captain things weredifferent. They were fewpeople running theboard, there were just afew selectors. Now theboard has expanded, theselection committee hasexpanded and thecaptain cannot be theo n l y o n e t a k i n gdecisions," he said.

"So I don`t thinkit is possible to get thesame authority that Imran

    " I h a v e n o tthought on those lines

because you don`t dropquality players on basis ofone bad series. But yes Iwant a situation wherethere is competition forplaces and we have youngp l a y e r s c a p a b l e o fstepping in when required.I want to see senior playersdevelop the spirit wherethey are willing to rest ifthey are not performing,"he said.
