Copenhagen 1th of December 2015 Letter of recommendation, This letter is to confirm that Dagmara Piszcz has worked for the GXN, the innovation company of 3XN architects the past half year from August 4th 2015 and will carry through until January 29th, 2016. Throughout her employment, Dagmara has already been working on quite a few projects. She has always has an impressively high production with ingenuity in the detail. Some of the projects Dagmara has been involved with to this date are: Building a Circular Future – the latest research project at GXN focusing on turning demolition cost into deconstruction revenue through design for disassembly, circular economy, and material passports. Reinvent Paris – large complex of mix‐use residential, offices and public space in Paris. Dagmara helped develop the green innovation strategies for 3XN architects final stage entry. Agro Food Park – concept, design and illustration of GXN vison and masterplan for a food and agriculture cluster outside Aarhus. Spanning from innovation strategies over city development over time. Material Lab – research, communication, writing and shipping of material samples for Aarhus School if Architecture’s Material Lab. Focusing on materials with designed and surprising properties. Dagmara is dedicated and has a professional attitude. She has obvious design skills and, as said, processes a high production of high quality. In addition, as soon you get to know her, she is also quite fun company. I wish her the very best concluding her studies, and stand in reference for the above mentioned.

Pulpit rock is one of the most impressive viewpoint in Scandinavia. My project does not call in question beauty of its scene. Split would like to offer variant perspective of the landscape. Visitors deserve to more than usual fjord experience. Split enables astonishing sensations. Firstly, the gap involves visitors into the rock, provides wind protection and siting place. They go through the stepped path. Afterwards project’s shape forces viewers to look straight into the water surface. Water’s table behaves like a mirror, reflects fjords surroundings and creates hypnotizing view.

Yoga House was designed for 4-person family. Parents shared passion is yoga. Specially designed space consists of a yoga room and a terrace, which connects with unusual garden. The house is located on a marshy grounds, so garden is created with pathways bridges hidden between the reeds. Garden is shrouded by the house, whose plan ia arranged in the characteristic shape of the letter Y. The separated in this way area is part of the house, its outer living room, dining room and a place to relax. The house is clearly divided into two parts: the representative and the family, whose main corridor was reflected in the outside deck.

Group work during workshop with students from Changzhou Institute of Technology in China.
We found inspiration of project in cross-linking of bricks in elevation of existing building. Based on that module we create pattern. It is used in steel cladding and window shutters.
Courtyard façade is covered with yellow brick, but the extension part, the wall is going to change to steel profile with insulation.
For the renovation building, there’s a new bathroom and kitchen for each apartment, and we installed an elevator in the middle and added another stair in the basement.

Purpose of this project is to provide better quality living in Sønderbrogade area. We focused on the existing cultural context and therefore by using material common in this area - red brick - we are trying to add modern and sustainable architectural solution to this place. Spe-cial type of brickwork makes an external skin stretched on building’s body. Depending on the function needed skin has openings reinforced by steel frames, is opaque or semi-trans-parent. By simple reposition of bricks we are aiming to create variety of experiences from wide openings, through semi-private balconies up to private and closed spaces.

Apart from my architecture studies, I have another great passion. Every holiday I pack my watercolour , brushes, pencils and sketchbook. After all I have amazing memories translated onto paper, from places I really enjoyed. Personaly, I find this way of travelling as the most interesting and involving.
