The Most Reverend Nicholas DiMarzio, Bishop of Brooklyn, is pleased to announce that churches in the Diocese of Brooklyn can re-open for Weekday Mass on Monday, June 29, 2020. The celebration of Sunday Mass Sunday, July 5, 2020. COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place, including the requirement that all who enter a church must bring and must wear their own mask during the entire Mass and maintain proper social distancing. Beyond the requirement that parishioners must bring and must wear their own mask for Mass, churches can only be filled to 25% capacity to fulfill social distance requirements of six feet between congregants. Families who live in the same household though will be able to sit together. The reception of Communion will be different. It is strongly recommended the faithful receive Holy Communion in the hand and they must leave their mask on when they approach the priest at a six-foot distance. When the communicant receives the Sacred Host, they should move to the side and consume the Eucharist immediately. Communion will only be offered in one form; the Precious Blood will not be distributed to the faithful at this time. The dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass remains in effect until further notice. As such, the Diocese urges anyone who feels sick in any way to stay home. The weekly mass schedule in our parish will return from Monday to Friday and will be celebrated at 7:00 a.m. in Polish and at 12:10 p.m. in English, on Saturday at 7:00 am in Polish. SAINT KATERI TEKAKWITHA (1656-1680) July 14 Though the New York State Thruway runs close by the North American Martyrs’ Shrine, traffic’s roar never pierces the peace enveloping Auriesville—Ossernon to Native Americans—in the lovely Mohawk Valley, where Kateri Tekakwitha was born barely ten years after the martyrdom of Isaac Jogues and his Jesuit and lay companions. Daughter of a Christian Algonquin mother and non-Christian Mohawk chief, Kateri’s parents died in a smallpox epidemic widely blamed on the missionaries. Moreover, many Native Americans had experienced exploitation at the hands of “Christian” traders and trappers, further discrediting the faith Kateri embraced in baptism, then pledged to live even more intensely in vowed virginity. Misunderstanding led to harassment, prompting her move to a Christian village farther north along the Saint Lawrence River. Despite this, Kateri’s faith remained undaunted, her selfless charity undiminished. Both before and after her death at twenty-four, this young “Lily of the Mohawks” drew countless converts to Christ by the fragrance of her goodness. Through us, does “the aroma of Christ” (2 Corinthians 2:15), attract others to the beauty of his gospel?

Dyspensa od uczestnictwa we Mszy świętej obowiązuje aż do odwołania. Diecezja zachęca osoby starsze oraz tych spośród wiernych którzy chorują do pozostania w domu. Inne wreszcie padły na ziemię żyzną i plon wydały, jedno stokrotny, drugie sześćdziesięciokrotny, a inne trzydziestokrotny. Tak spełnia się na nich przepowiednia Izajasza: „Słuchać będziecie, a nie zrozumiecie, patrzeć będziecie, a nie zobaczycie. Bo stwardniało serce tego ludu, ich uszy stępiały i oczy swe zamknęli, żeby oczami nie widzieli ani uszami nie słyszeli, ani swym sercem nie rozumieli, i nie nawrócili się, abym ich uzdrowił”. Lecz szczęśliwe oczy wasze, że widzą, i uszy wasze, że słyszą. Bo zaprawdę, powiadam wam: Wielu proroków i sprawiedliwych pragnęło ujrzeć to, na co wy patrzycie, a nie ujrzeli; i usłyszeć to, co wy słyszycie, a nie usłyszeli. Wy zatem posłuchajcie przypowieści o siewcy. Do każdego, kto słucha słowa o królestwie, a nie rozumie go, przychodzi Zły i porywa to, co zasiane jest w jego sercu. Takiego człowieka oznacza ziarno posiane na drodze.

SHARE THE BURDEN “Come to me, all you who labor and are bur-dened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). These words of our Savior seem to be in stark con-trast to the previous chapter from the same Gospel, when we were told that if we do not take up our crosses, we are not worthy of Christ. Connecting these two messages might help us on our faith jour-neys. Being a follower of Christ surely means that we must embrace the cross, in its mystery of both suffer-ing and triumph. This is something that we need not do alone, for the burden is often too heavy for us to carry by ourselves. Who, then, do we turn to? We can turn to the Body of Christ—the community of disci-ples gathered for worship. When we find the burden too heavy, let us remember that we can share that burden with our Christian sisters and brothers, who can help bring us rest.

The six months requirement is from the bishop's office and is excused only with great dif-ficulty(If it is excused at all). Likewise, at one of the two people who will be married must be a registered parishioner.

BAPTISMS - Those who wish to have a child bap-tized, need to speak to one of the priests (in person - NO PHONE ARRANGEMENTS) and confirm the ap-propriate Sunday (2nd Sunday in Polish at the 11:00 am Mass or 4th Sunday in English after the 11:00 am Mass.) Parents should be practicing Catholics as should the godparents. If the Godparents are not from our Parish they must have a note from their parish confirming that they are practicing Catholics. (One of the godparents may be a non-Catholic Chris-tian but he or she must be validly baptized and faith-ful in his or her own communion.
