By choosing a different IGBT 3,3kV rating instead of 1,7kV rating the IGBT will withstand Neutron radiation. We have several systems installed operating for long time with neutrons without failing. Still, it is known that high dose of radiation will discolor the optical fibers and it can degenerate some sensitive microprocessors and memories.
