Six Kendriya Vidalayas of Chennai city namely KV Annanagar, KV Ashoknagar , KV CLRI,KV Gill Nagar, KV IIT and KV Island grounds participated in the exhibition. The exhibition was inaugurated by Sri PP Srinivasan, Chairman, VMC, KV Anna nagar and Chief Engineer, CPWD(SZ-1). The exhibition presented charts, albums and projects. Models made of thermocol or any other materials were discouraged by KVS to sensitize the student community to being eco-friendly. The introduction of project was to develop skills like data collection, analysis, reporting, making predictions and drawing conclusions. Four topic of project were announced namely working of PDS, POSSIBILITY of rain water harvesting, problems and prospective of preserving historical monuments and heritage, pollution and pollutants in the area. There were 18 entries from 6 participating schools and each school did their best in preparing their projects. Students had made exhibits pertaining to the themes: historical and geographical aspects development in various field like agriculture, industry ,science and technology since independence economical and cultural aspects

A REPORT ON CLUSTER LEVEL SOCIAL SCIENCE EXHIBITION HELD AT KV,
ANNA NAGAR
National integration camp cum Social science exhibition 2012 for Kendriya
Vidyalayas of Ashok Nagar cluster was organized on 9th of October 2012 at
Kendriya Vidayalaya, Annanagar, Chennai-40. Six Kendriya Vidalayas of Chennai
city namely KV Annanagar, KV Ashoknagar , KV CLRI,KV Gill Nagar, KV IIT and
KV Island grounds participated in the exhibition.

political aspects-contribution to independence, great nation leaders and
places of tourism
The themes were related to the state of Gujarat and the country of
Russia. There were 96 entries out of which 16 exhibits were selected to
represent at the regional social science exhibition to be held at KV,
Ashok nagar on 15th and 16th of October 2012.
To encourage and motivate students various competitions were organized like
Quiz on the topic-"Life and accomplishments of Mahatma Gandhi”
Debate in Hindi and English on topic - Man is bundle of emotions
Presentation of skit on human values
Group song and Group dance featuring the culture of Gujarat were
presented by various schools.
Exciting and scintillating performances made the task of judges very
difficult. Each team was vying to secure the top position.
The valedictory function was held after the completion of all the events.
Dr.(Mrs.) Uma Sivaraman, Assistant Commissioner, KVS, Chennai region was
the distinguished Guest of honour. In her valedictory address, she highlighted
the efforts of KVS in organizing and promoting such events. She declared the
names of winners of various events and distributed the certificates.
She congratulated all the participants and impressed upon the crowd that
participation was more important than winning.
These type of exhibitions give a varied exposure to the participants and help
them develop a lot of life skills in an informal way. All the esteemed judges
from different schools and organizations of Chennai city, highly appreciated
the performance of students and the guidance of teachers. As pioneers in the
field of education, innovations and experimentations, KVS aims at holistic
development of its students and such events are revelation of their effort in
this direction.
