Polon-Alfa Spółka z ograniczoną odpowiedzialnością Sp. k. (limited partnership company) is a medium-sized Polish

enterprise that has been involved in research & development and production activity in the fire detection and alarm system

business for over 50 years. The company’s beginning dates back to the fifties of the previous century when a laboratory

focused on ionisation radiation was established. This workshop created, as the first one in Poland and the third in the world,

an ionisation smoke detector in 1962. Its main activity was focused on manufacturing of nuclear radiation measurement

devices which are still a part of the company’s production. In the course of time, the firm main business interest was set on fire

detection and alarm systems and therefore nowadays Polon-Alfa is the main manufacturer of those devices in Poland and one

of the leading ones in Europe.

Polon-Alfa’s main asset is a team of qualified, well trained and experienced engineers who are able to work out and

develop very comprehensive state-of-art solution. The company’s assortment is steadily extended and enhanced: nowadays

it comprises both conventional and addressable fire detection systems as well as control panels suitable for smoke exhaust

controlling installations.

Most attention is given to the product high quality – therefore the company obtained the ISO 9001 quality management

system certificate in 1998. All devices manufactured by Polon-Alfa have been approved by the EU notified authorities with

EC-Conformity Certificates that confirm that the goods meet the European Standards requirements (in particular the EN 54

standard). The company possesses highly advanced research and quality control equipment including a fire test chamber, which

gives a testing possibility in real fire conditions. As the factory specialises in design and production of equipment used in various

important fields, some devices are attested by ATEX certificates that confirm their suitability in explosive dangerous conditions.

Since 2002 the company has the NATO NCAGE code and approval.

The innovative fire protection systems created and developed by the company have been proved in small premises

such as households and small offices or shops as well as in much bigger ones: hotels, office and historical buildings, industrial

factories, etc. The devices marked with the POLON-ALFA logotype are installed and secure premises mainly in Poland but also in

foreign markets like Ukraine, Lithuania, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Bulgaria and Kazakhstan. The reference list includes such objects as the

Warsaw Uprising Museum, Łazienki Palace in Warsaw, University Children’s Hospital in Cracow, British-American Tobacco factory

in Augustów, Mercure hotels and many others.

Overview

The POLON 6000 control panel with a distributed architecture

The addressable, interactive POLON 6000 fire alarm system is a set of latest technology equipment, designed for very fast detection and signaling of fire, precise indication of fire origin, control of fire protection safety devices, and information of appropriate interven- tion services or building guards about fire. It enables protection of mid-size, large and very large facilities, especially so called “intelli- gent” buildings with huge amount of fire protection safety devices. POLON 6000 can be easily integrated with many existing building management systems. Due to its specific features it enables to ar- range perfect set of necessary devices, well-fitted to building con- ditions.The POLON 6000 system is based on newly designed control panels with distributed architecture and new set of line elements (6000 se- ries), supplemented with line elements of series 4000 with changed software version.All devices of the POLON 6000 system meet requirements of the latest edition of EN 54 European Standards.

The POLON 6000 control panel was designed based on the idea of a module device with a distributed architecture. It consists of many unified modules of various types, installed inside standardized ca-binets. Cabinets can be arranged as separate units or combined in sets (so called nodes) and can be located in different places of pro-tected building, even if those locations are distant. All modules wi-thin one node and nodes between themselves are connected with a common, doubled (redundancy) digital communication bus.

Each control panel can be flexibly assembled with modules and no- des well-fitted to individual building requirements. Such solution enables the arrangement of the control panel equipment, installed in required locations. This provides maximum optimization of the system, reduction of cost of installation while the system is still extremely reliable and functional. All that is possible thanks to im- plementation of doubled main processor controllers, communica- tion buses and cable connections between nodes.The POLON 6000 control panel consists of the PSO-60 panels with 10’’ touch screen, functional modules: detection lines MLD-61 and MLD-62, input-output modules MKS-60, relay outputs MPK-60, si- gnalling outputs module MWS-60, high current relay outputs MPW- 61, supervision inputs MWK-60, supply modules MZP-60 and trans- mission modules MTI-61, MTI-62, MTI-63.PSO panels and modules are installed inside the cabinets with stan- dard dimensions, which can be mechanically connected. A set of such mechanically connected cabinets create a control panel node. The control panel has to have at least one node in which main con- trol panel PSO-60 (having number 1) is installed. This is the “main node” of the control panel. There is always only one “Main node” in the system. The rest of elements (modules) of the control pa- nel is configured in form of external nodes which are connected to the “main node”. The communication between nodes is provided by means of doubled cable connection (RS-485) or doubled fiber optic cables. Each node shall be equipped – depending on the size of node and expected current consumption – with one or more supply mo-dules. Each node can contain line modules with connected de- tec-tion lines, input-output modules for direct control or supervision of fire safety devices. In each external node the PSO-60 panel can be implemented, acting as the parallel operation panel.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

PSO-60

The PSO-60 is an operator panel equipped with 10” touch screen (800x600 pixels) and key-pad integrated with main controller MCS-60 and redundant controller MSR-60. It is installed in doors of OM-62 cabinet or can operate as a remote panel fitted in small cabinet OS-61. The remote panel (PSO-60 and OS-61) marked as WPO-60 is equipped with two transmission modules MTI-61 and MTI-62 but has no power supply unit.

MKS-60

The module is equipped with:- Two potential-free relay outputs with max load 1 A/30 V,- Two potential outputs (signaling lines) with 0,5 A/24V,- Two low voltage monitoring inputs.The module is fail-safe ready and the position of the relay or its operation in case of fault can be programmed. Inputs and outputs are equipped with external line continuity monitoring circuits. Monitoring input can be programmed as 2-states (quiescent and action) or 3-states (quiescent, action 1 and action 2). States are identified by different resistance of the line.

MPK-60

The module is equipped with 4 relay potential-free outputs with current load up to 1 A/30 V. The module is fail-safe ready and the position of the relay or its operation in case of fault can be programmed. Outputs are equipped with external line continuity monitoring circuits.

MWS-60

The module is equipped with 4 signaling lines with 0,5 A/30 V. Outputs are equipped with external line continuity monitoring circuits.

MWK-60

The module is equipped with 8 resistance monitoring inputs. Inputs are equipped with exter-nal line continuity monitoring circuits. They can be programmed as 2-states (quiescent and action) or 3-states (quiescent, action 1 and action 2). States are identified by different resi-stance of the line.

MPW-61

The module is equipped with:- Two high voltage potential-free relay outputs with 5 A/230 V AC,- Two monitoring inputs.Inputs and outputs are equipped with external line continuity monitoring circuits. Moni-toring input can be programmed as 2-states (quiescent and action) or 3-states (quiescent, action 1 and action 2). States are identified by different resistance of the line.

MD-60

The module is equipped with the controller and the thermal printer mechanism.

Power supply modules consist of power unit and supervising unit MZP-60. Two versions are available: 150 W and 300 W (max current load is 5 A/24 V or 10 A/24V). Power supply modu-les are complete units being installed inside control panel’s cabinets. Modules are equipped with:- Two potential-free relay outputs with 1 A/30 V,- Two potential outputs to power auxiliary devices with the total current load of 0,5 A (not programmable),- Output for batteries and temperature probe.

MTI-6X

Transmission modules MTI secure the data bus of the control panel.MTI-61 is a transmission module without separation. The module is used for connection of transmission channels between cabinets within single node. It contains also two power sup-ply lines.MTI-62 is a transmission module with galvanic isolation. The module is used for connection of transmission channels between nodes. The maximum distance is limited to 1200 m.MTI-63 – is a transmission module dedicated for the connection of transmission channels between nodes using fiber optic cable.

SM-60

POLON 4000 INTERACTIVE FIRE DETECTION AND ALARM SYSTEM

The POLON 4000 addressable interactive fire alarm system is a set of the newest generation units designed for detection of a fire in its earliest stage, sending an alarm signal to appropriate emer-gency services (e.g. Fire Brigades), and controlling external fire protection units. POLON 4000 is intended for protection of mid-size, large and very large buildings. The newest signal transmission protocol in detection lines is a cutting-edge solution that enables interactive co-operation between line elements and the control panel as well as between each other. This type of fire detection system philosophy guarantees unique opportunities of very pre-cise, automatic analysis of phenomena occurring in the protected facility. Mutual information exchange carried out by fire detectors provides necessary information as early as at the beginning fire development stage, during a phase, in which the classic fire alarm systems used until now were not able to react. Such early collection of information ensures precise analysis of observed occurrences, enables to distinct a fire hazard state from a short-term interference phenomenon and thus a well-balanced, verified decision may be taken by the fire detection system.Fire alarm control panels can operate separately in installations of up to 1,000 line elements, or in hierarchical, ring structure networks in the case of large or scattered facilities. In this situation, the number of line elements connected to the system (POLON 4900 fire alarm control panels) can exceed 31,000. The system is supplemented by the POLON 4500 4-zone automatic fire extingu-ishing control panel. The control panels can be manufactured in different language versions.

DESCRIPTION TECHNICAL DATAThe TSR-4000 parallel indication terminal is a microprocessor based unit de-signed to interoperate with the POLON 4000 system fire alarm control panels as a remote signalling and operation unit. Up to 16 TSR-4000 terminals may be connected to one control panel. The terminal repeats signals indicated by the connected POLON 4000 system fire alarm control panel, which are alarm and fault messages, disablements, tests and technical alarms. A fire signal can be acknowledged and then the fire alarm can be reset from the terminal level.

The EKS-4001 and EKS-4001W input/output devices are designed to actuate – after receipt of a signal from the control panel – alarm and fire-protection devices, such as: signalling devices, fire dampers, fire-protection doors, etc. The fire security device actuation is performed with usage of relay contacts. They enable control over the efficiency and proper activation of the moni-tored unit. The EKS-4001 input/output device is an interchangeable module with two angle connectors, which is installed in single, dual or quadruple appropriate casings.

The EWS-4001 addressable multi-output controlling device is designed to control different fire-fighting automatic equipment, in particular for swit-ching-on pre-fire warning sound systems and synoptic signs. The device is equipped with eight independent relays with non-potential change-over contacts.

IGNIS CONVENTIONAL FIRE DETECTION AND ALARM SYSTEM

The IGNIS 1000 fire detection and alarm system is a set of units based on micro-processor operated fire alarm control panels with capacity of 4, 6, 8, 16, or 24 non-addressable detection lines. These control panels are designed for installation in small and medium sized buildings. The modern structure of the above said units enables to create a complex and functional fire alarm system. All control panels comply with the EN 54-2 European standard. The specialized IGNIS 1520M control panel enables control of the automatic fire extinguishing process using various extinguishing agents and methods.

The control panels interoperate with the 40 model range conventional fire detectors. The control panels can be manufactured in various language versions.
