ANDRZEJ JASINSKI (Poland)
Nato nel 1936, Andrzej Jasinski ha studiato alla Scuola superiore di musica a Katowice nella classe
del Prof. W. Markiewicz. Diplomatosi nel 1959 con il massimo dei voti, si è perfezionato a Parigi con Magda
Tagliaferro.
Nel 1960 ha vinto il primo premio a Barcellona al Concorso Maria Canals; nel 1961 ha debuttato sulla scena
internazionale a Torino con l'Orchestra della RAI diretta da Carlo Zecchi ed in seguito nelle più importanti
sale e teatri di Polonia ed in vari paesi (ex Unione Sovietica, Cecoslovacchia, Germania, Francia, Brasile,
Uruguay, Giappone etc.).
Nel 1961 ha avuto inizio anche la sua attività pedagogica a Katowice; dal 1973 ha ottenuto la cattedra di
pianoforte. Nel 1976 ha ricevuto il titolo di professore e dal 1979 al 1982 ha insegnato alla Hochschule für
Musik di Stoccarda.
Ha ricevuto per quattro volte un premio speciale dal Ministro della cultura della Polonia per gli eccellenti
risultati della sua attività pedagogica.
I suoi allievi hanno ricevuto numerosi premi in concorsi pianistici. E' stato l'unico insegnante di Krystian
Zimerman, premio Chopin nel 1975.
Tiene corsi di interpretazione pianistica a Varsavia, al Mozarteum di Salisburgo, in Giappone e in America
del Sud.
I suoi allievi sono stati premiati in numerosi concorsi ed hanno intrapreso rimarchevoli carriere artistiche e
didattiche; fra di essi, Krystian Zimmerman.
Dal 1975 è membro delle giurie dei più importanti concorsi pianistici del mondo: Concorso “Chopin” di
Varsavia, Concorso “Busoni” di Bolzano, Concorso “Regina Elisabetta” di Bruxelles, Concorso “Casagrande”
di Terni, Concorso “Van Clinburn” di Fort Worth, e poi ancora Parigi, Leeds, Dublino, Monaco, Mosca, Tel
Aviv, Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing etc.
Born in 1936 in Czestochowa, Andrzej Jasinski, who had taken his first piano lessons from his father,
was subsequently a student in the National Secondary School of Music. He then studied in the piano class of
Wladyslawa Markiewiczowna at the National Higher School of Music in Katowice in 1952-59, to graduate
with honours. He further developed his skills under Magda Tagliaferro in Paris in 1960-61, and in 1960 won
the 1st prize at the Maria Canals International Piano Competition in Barcelona.
Jasinski started concertizing while still a student. His foreign debut took place in 1961 with the RAI Orchestra
under Carlo Zecchi in Turin. He has since played in concerts in all Polish philharmonic halls as well as in the
Soviet Union, Czechoslovaka, Germany, France, Brazil, Uruguay, Japan etc. He has appeared at music
festivals in the Polish towns of Slupsk, Duszniki, Warsaw and Wroclaw. He has performed and has recorded
for radio and television with the Grand Orchestra of the Polish Radio and Television.
Since 1961 he has been teaching at the Katowice Academy of Music. He was appointed professor in 1990.
In 1972-96 and 2003-2005 he ran the Academy's chair of piano. In 1979-82 he conducted the piano class at
the Hochschule fur Musik in Stuttgart. He has also lectured at the Mozarteum Summer Academy for Music in
Salzburg and conducted piano courses at the Incontri col Maestro in Imola, Italy, as well as in France,
Holland, Germany, Austria, Japan, South Africa, and elsewhere. He has educated a number of concerting
pianists - winners of prizes at domestic as well as foreign competitions - notably Krystian Zimmerman.
Jasinski has sat on the juries of international piano competitions in Warsaw (The Chopin Competition, in
2000, 2005 and 2010 as chairman), Bolzano, Brussels, Dublin, Fort Worth, Leeds, Munich, Moscow, Paris,
Beijing, Pretoria, Seoul, Terni, Tokyo, Tel Aviv etc.
