Solar power plant 1.8 MWp
in Wierzchosławice - Stage I
Construction of solar power plant 1.8 MWp in Wierzchosławice - Stage I is located in the Wierzchoslawice Commune in Malopolska.
The Wierzchosławice commune is a suburban commune situated in the Dunajec Valley, in the southern part of Sandomierz Basin, in the Tarnow county. It is a historic place where an outstanding politician, statesman and multiple prime minister of Poland Wincenty Witos lived and acted.
The nearest neighbours on the administrative map are: The communes: Radłów, Wojnicz, Borzęcin, Żabno, Tarnow and the city of Tarnow. The Wierzchosławice commune encompasses 11 villages: Bobrowniki Małe, Bogumiłowice, Gosławice, Kępa Bogumiłowicka, Komorów, Łętowice, Mikołajowice, Ostrów, Rudka, Sieciechowice and Wierzchosławice. The commune occupies 74.8 square km inhabited by about 10.5 thousand inhabitants.
The investment is carried out by the company "Energy Wierzchoslawice" Sp. z o. o. in Wierzchosławice. The idea of renewable energy sources in the Municipality Wierzchoslawice came from Mayor Wiesław Rajski. For several years research and identification of possible use in our area the potential of renewable energy sources has been carried out. We want to become the environmental friendly and modern municipality.
The Company "Energy Wierzchoslawice" also has a license for geothermal borehole in the village Bobrowniki Small - depth 3600 m, in order to carry out the construction of a "system of exploitation of geothermal waters in Municipality Wierzchoslawice".
Geothermal waters are to be used to generate heat for the city of Tarnow. It’s possible to obtain a power of 4.65 MW of thermal power. Thermal waters can also be used for heating tunnels horticultural, fish farming or recreational purposes balneo-in the form of thermal pools ("Baths Wierzchoslawice")
Construction of solar power plant 1.8 MWp in Wierzchosławice - Stage I is the first in Poland to build industrial photovoltaic farms with total capacity of 1.8 MWp - Phase I applies to power 1.0 MWp. The investment is financed by the Malopolska Regional Operational Programme (50% - eligible costs-net) and 50% own contribution which consists of a loan from the Regional Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Krakow
The date of completion after the signing of the annex 30/09/2011
Starting date 18/07/2011,
Total investment cost: 8 615 400,00 PLN(2 000 000 EUR)
4 308 670.00 PLN 1 000 000 EUR - funding of eligible costs
(Malopolska Regional Operational Programme)
4 303 920.00 PLN 1 000 000 EUR – loan from the Regional Fund
for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Krakow
The farm consists of 4445 pieces of photovoltaic panels with a capacity of 225 watts each with a tolerance under 225 [W], -0 / +3% power, built with 60 photovoltaic multicristalline, joined by two busbars, converters and transformers. Panels attached to the base permanently (as is clear from the photos) are connected to a network of 15 kV.
From 1MWp per year on investment can be achieved revenues of approximately 600-800 thousand PLN annually, depending on the weather. We estimate that the investment will return to us after about 7 years.
Electricity in Poland is becoming more expensive which will benefit everyone in the electricity bill. It is expected that due to restrictions imposed by the EU until 2020 we will have 15% of electricity produced from Renewable Energy Sources.
However, the lack of appropriate legal requirements and subsidies makes photovoltaics in Poland not developping, and similar projects have no chance of success.
We hope that the rules will change in Poland, and the new regulations will enable the rapid construction and the ability to connect to a network of small farms of photovoltaic (energy dissipated).
We hope that our project will be a positive signal and initiate the development of photovoltaics in our country, and Poland will soon join countries such as Germany and the Czech Republic - where photovoltaic develops.
