przedstawiany w pokłonie przed Jezusem. Stoi w postawie pokory

ze schyloną głową i

wyciągniętą ręką wskazującą Zbawiciela.

Będąc nauczycielem, nie zatrzymuje swoich uczniów przy sobie, ale

prowadzi dalej. O jego młodzieńczych latach i dorastaniu wiemy niewiele. Bóg przygotowywał go na pustkowiu do

zadania, które miał podjąć. Dzięki temu, gdy dorósł i stał się duchowym mistrzem dla innych, usłyszał w głosie Jezusa

głos Zbawiciela. Widząc nadchodzącego krewnego, potrafił zobaczyć w Nim Baranka Bożego

Tiny fingers and toes. A little yawn. A loud cry. An infant wrapped in swaddling clothes. "What will this child be?" It is a

question every parent asks time and time again. As first steps are taken, as personalities emerge,

as a child shows interest in reading or drawing or climbing, the question is on our lips. "What will this child be?" This question is asked as John the Baptist is born. Will he be a priest like his father? Does his strange, unexpected name signal a departure from

that inheritance? Could Elizabeth and Zechariah ever have

predicted what would be? Under the tutelage of his priestly father, John "became strong in spirit." As an adult, John would retreat into the desert to preach repentance. He

would attract a large following and eventually attract the attention of the rulers of the day. He would point out the adulterous ways of King

Herod and would find himself in prison. Eventually, he would be beheaded. But today, he is a child, an infant newly born. On this special feast, we're reminded of the great humility required of

parents. The character formation, the discipline and encouragement, the violin lessons and soccer practices? Every parental effort is

subjected to the decisions of the child themselves. Even children on a sure track by high school graduation transform under life's

circumstances. Entrusting our children to God can be incredibly intimidating. "What will this child be," especially when that

transformation lies outside of my control? John the Baptist's story

might not have ended as his parents imagined. But he is celebrated as the greatest of the prophets, as the one who prepared the way for the Messiah. Here is the hope of all

Christian parents -- that our children would be raised in such a way that when people meet them, they meet Jesus Christ.

As a student, the young Raymond excelled in

what we now call the STEM areas of study

(science, technology, engineering, and math). He also had a passionate interest in all things military. A childhood dream of the

priesthood was almost lost for this ardent patriot with a soldier’s heart, as he had hoped for a military career defending his beloved Poland. Complications caused him to abandon these plans and he entered the Franciscan noviate late in 1910 and was ordained in 1918. His still

had a soldier’s heart, but now waged a spiritual war. With several friends a new type of army was founded, the Militia Immaculate, an

army to convert sinners and bring all to love Mary Immaculate. By the time he was in his early thirties, Fr. Kolbe founded a religious house near Warsaw, Niepokalanów – the City of the Immaculate, from

which to expand his evangelization efforts. Starting with a handful of friars, within a decade it grew to house nearly 1,000! He and a handful of his brothers travelled to Japan, where they opened

another house in Nagasaki. Fr. Kolbe was a man of his times and thoroughly modern in his evangelization. The friars’ made use of the most modern printing technology and distribution strategies for their materials, their arsenal in the Militia’s spiritual war. They had started a

radio station and Fr. Kolbe even had plans for a movie studio.�

mieć w pamięci te słowa Jezusa, bo chronią nas przed

pułapkami zastawianymi bardzo często przez Złego.

Strategia podpowiadana przez naszego przeciwnika jest prosta: „Jesteś grzesznikiem, więc

nie pchaj się do Boga!” albo: „Najpierw musisz sam poradzić sobie z grzechem i złem, które czynisz, a dopiero potem wolno ci będzie zwrócić się do Chrystusa”. To całkowite

wypaczenie nauki Ewangelii. Jezus nigdy nie odwracał się od człowieka, nawet największego grzesznika. To właśnie na grzesznikach bardzo Mu zależało i szukał ich jako dobry Pasterz, miłosierny Samarytanin czy troskliwy Lekarz. Jeśli

mamy już dość trwania w grzechu i pragniemy nawrócenia, udajmy się czym prędzej do zdroju miłosierdzia. Przylgnijmy

do Chrystusa, by w Jego imię pokonać moce zła.
