ObjectivesLearn basic photography skills. Adjust image’s brightness, contrast, hue, and saturation levels. Show the use of color schemes appropriate for the image taken.
ProcessI walked around looking for a good spot with my chosen color scheme to take a picture. I decided to go with the analogous scheme. I took my photo during the first hour after the sunrise to get the best light. I decided to take it with a foreground focus. Later on, I opened the picture in Photoshop and used levels, sharpness, saturation, and color balance adjustments to enhance the picture. Then I designed an 8.5×11 layout in Photoshop. I used the eyedropper tool to get the exact colors from the picture. I used mostly straight lines but decided to add a wave to show some contrast. I framed my picture to make it stand out more and also to connect it to the middle yellow line. I used lime and yellow colors for my sign to show the most important words and to match the color scheme. I created circles to show the color scheme that I used.

ObjectivesCreate a variety of logos to fit a company or personal image.
ProcessFor the first logo I changed my font into an object so that I could use kerning to manipulate the spacing in between the letters. I added a rectangle and manipulated the corners with Direct Selection Tool. With the Convert Anchor Point Tool I made my last two letters of the logo emerge to one. I added four circles and changed their colors. Then I added the ‘hotel and spa’ sign on the opposite corner to contrast the circles.
For my second logo I created a circle and manipulated it with a Direct Selection Tool to make it leaf shaped. I rotated five leaves together and then copied them and reflected to unite the design. Then I added more leaves. Later, I made a square and added two Anchor Points in the middle of the sides. I manipulated it into S-shape with Convert Anchor Point Tool.
For my third logo I created three squares and used previously copied leaves from the second logo. I made the leaves point to the rest of the logo to make the design flow better. I added a ‘4’ and then used path to get rid of the letter so that it would be see through. I did exactly the same thing with the ‘seasons’ sign.

ObjectivesFind and scan a high-quality image. Create a full-bleed design.
ProcessI found a photo that I wanted to use for my ad and then sketched to find the best way to design it. I scanned the image of the flowers and put it in the Word document. Then I added boxes starting with the indigo and line ones. I made the brick ones transparent and overlap to the middle one which created contrast. I chose a white colored font for my title so that it would stand out more. Body copy and the D-T-P are contrasting and complementing the background by the use of different background colors.

ObjectivesLearn to make layers in Photoshop. Learn to blend images together using masks.
ProcessI found both my pictures in Google search tool. I opened Photoshop and cropped the photograph of the bride to 8.5in x 11in, so that she would be on the second third of the photograph. I used sharpening tool to make the bride stand out more. Then I placed the photo of the Scriptures and turned them sideways so that the key would be on the left. I wanted to do that to create a flow that would go from the key to the text and then to the bride whose dress would lead back to the key. I added a mask and used brush with different opacities, mostly about 20% and 80%, to soften the edges and make the sand and dress visible through the Scriptures. Then I added a quote and made some words contrast with others by making them bigger, smaller, or changing the font. I placed the quote on the area with natural white space.

ObjectivesCreate a new logo to fit a company or personal image. Design consistent layouts for a business card and letterhead.
ProcessFirst of all, I found a picture of an anchor online and placed it in the Adobe Illustrator. Then I locked the picture and by using the Pen Tool I made my anchor logo. I added a rope with an Arc Tool and changed the color of the anchor to indigo. Next, I opened another page in Adobe Illustrator and made my ‘Anchor sailing equipment’ sign.
Then I found a picture containing paper texture on the Internet and opened it in Photoshop. I changed the size to 3.5in x 2in (the business card size) and added a mask. Then I used Brush Tool to lighten the middle of the document while still maintaining the texture. When that was done, I placed my logos and added the information.

ObjectivesCreate a new logo to fit a company or personal image. Design consistent layouts for a business card and letterhead.
ProcessI placed the same logos I have done for my business card to Adobe InDesign and. I used only the left half of the anchor logo and made big enough to cover most of the page. I put it in 5% opacity to make it a watermark. I put the second logo and added my information to the left corners to contrast the watermark on the right.

ObjectivesSize and optimize an original logo as a .png for a web page. Write content to describe the process of creating my logo and the way it appeals to the audience. Design a web page using HTML and CSS.
ProcessI created this web using HTML and CSS in Text Wrangler. First, I marked up all my content. I inserted the picture of my logo and divided my information into paragraphs and bullet points. I attached a pre-made CSS document to my HTML. I changed the colors and fonts so that they would match my logo. I used the Eyedropper Tool from Photoshop to get the exact same colors I used in my logo.

ObjectivesApply the design principles and use appropriate typography.
Incorporate basic InDesign skills to improve basic flier layout.
Create a project folder with image, logo, and InDesign document to keep links intact.
ProcessI created many sketches of my layout. Then I chose my favorite elements from the sketches and put them together into one design. I created a layout in Adobe InDesign. I emphasized ‘Graduate’ in my title by making it bigger and a different font to make it my focal point. I added the picture and aligned it with the text. I used gradient rectangle to draw the audience and improve the flow.

ObjectivesSet up and align a two-sided, folded document. Wrap the text around an image. Use paragraph styles in InDesign.
ProcessI set up a fold in Adobe InDesign. I split up my first page into two sections and my second page into three sections. I found all my pictures online and cropped them in Photoshop with Eliptiqual Marquee Tool. I decided to shape them into ellipses. I used Polygonal Lasso Tool to show only the statue of Fryderyk Chopin with no background. Then I added masks to all of my selections. I placed the pictures into my brochure.
Later on, I added the title and previously written text about the main attractions that can be found in Warsaw. I styled them with the Paragraph Style. Then I wrapped the text around the pictures by using Text Wrap.
Lastly, I created my logo in Adobe Illustrator. I wanted the logo to show easily that it is a tour company that only shows the capital cities. I added three blue lines and shaped one of them to match T. I placed it into one of the ellipses that I created in Adobe InDesign.
