• Am 26. Januar 1905 wurde sie auf einem Zug nach Wien geboren.

• Bei sechs Jahren alt ist ihrer Mutter gestorben.

• Ihr Vater gab ihr zu einem Cousin.

• Dieser Cousin war Sozialist und Atheist.

As a college student, Maria entered a church service, thinking she was

attending a Bach concert. She found herself getting caught up in the words

of the preacher and changed her beliefs and the course of her life.

Maria dedicated herself to the

convent, but because of the lack of fresh

air and exercise she was accustomed to, her health began to

suffer.

1926

• She was sent to the von Trapp house to tutor Georg von Trapp’s daughter Maria, who was recovering from scarlet fever.

• Maria fell in love with all 7 of the von Trapp children while there, which eventually led to her being asked to wed the Captain and become a stepmother to them.

• Georg und Maria hatten drei Kinder zusammen:• Rosemarie (1929)• Eleonore (1931), und• Johannes (1939)

• 1939 – Sie kommen nach dem USA – Merion, Pennsylvania.

• 1942 – Sie kaufen ein Teil von Gale Farm, Stowe, VT.• Sie nennen ihn: Cor Unum (One Heart) später

wird “Trapp Family Lodge” heißen
